When it comes to the world of Print, actually putting ink on paper is not even half the story!! It is the post print operations that make all the difference.

In this section, we have tried to clearly and succinctly explain the various finishing options to enable you to have a greater understanding of the techniques and be more confident in specifying your requirements. Obviously if you do have any questions at all, do feel free to get in touch!

 

Die Cutting

Die Cutting

Pressing a sharp steel blade against paper or board under pressure allows us to cut out virtually any shape and make ordinary print into extraordinary finished products. 

 

Folding

Folding

Running sheets through pinched rollars allows us to fold them quickly and accurately. Whether it is a four page or six page, concertina or roll fold, we have the setup to suit.

 

Guillotining

Guilotining

Once your job is printed, it will at some point need to be trimmed to the correct finished size. We have a range of guillotines for all the sizes that can be printed. 

 

Creasing

Creasing

Where a thicker stock is required, it may be that prior to folding that a crease is needed to minimise the change of the material cracking.

 

Perforating

Perforating

Whether your product requires a micro perforation or a larger toothed perforation, we will ensure the correct tooling is used to finish the job correctly. 

 

Digital Embossing

Digital Embossing

When you would like to create a talking point, digital embossing does exactly that. A raised clear high gloss coating offers a product that people just can't put down. 

 

Saddle Stitching

Saddle Stitching

This method of binding is the most frequently requested for collated books, using two stitching wires (staples) through the spine. Binding options are goverened by the number and stock weight of pages. 

 

Perfect Binding

Perfect Binding

This binding method looks great where there are larger numbers of pages. The pages are glued at the spine. Binding options are govered by the number and stock weight of pages.

 

Pur Binding

Pur Binding

This binding method is used for large numbers of pages especially where the stock is of higher weights. THe pages are glued at the spine. Binding options are govered by the number and stock weight of pages.

 

Case Binding

Case Binding

This binding method is used for premium publications where a hard back cover is required. The pages are sewn into the spine and cased with a hard backed cover. 

 

Wiro Binding

Wiro Binding

A binding method that is most commonly used in the production of calendars, note-books and reports. Wires are available in a range of colours. 

 

Collating

Collating

Where multiple kinds are required to be collated or need to run in a specifc order, we offer collation to bring the job together. 

 

Padding

Padding

Mostly used in the production of NCR pads, desk pads and stationery such as delivery and invoice pads. Using glue, these can be bound on any of the straight edges.

 

Drilling

Drilling

Where pads need to be inserted into ring binders or for products such as swing tickets and handing boards, choose the number of required holes to finish your job. Size options are also available. 

 

Ram Punching

Ram Punching

When you require all four corners on your business cards to be rounded, we have the capability with our ram punching service. This create a stunning finish for printed business cards.

 

Embossing

Embossing

If you are looking for something slighty different on stationery or a corporate folder, embossing can add a different dimension to your printed product.

 

Foiling

Foiling

As an alternative or addition, we offer foiling for stationery. There are various colours and styles available to give you the desired look.

 

Spot UV

Spot UV

This is a process where you are able to highlight specific areas on book covers, folders or other stationery by applying a high gloss coating. 

 

Flood UV Coating

An overall UV coating is an alternative to a laminate and gives a specific feel to products such as playing cards. 

 

Scratch Off Latex

Scratch Off Latex

;Latex is applied after printing has taken place and can be used in specific areas to enable scratching off the surface to reveal a message underneath, such as in the use of scratch cards.

Our printed sheets can be mounted to a variety of substrates to increase the thickness of the stock used to produce the end product. From beer mats to point of sale products. 

 

 

Hand Finishing

Hand Finishing

Hand finishing includes all elements not suited to being machine finished either because no machine has the capability or if quantites are low. Everything from taping to stringing of swing tickets.

 

Laminating

Lamination options include gloss, matt and soft touch to add that quality and protective finish to printed literature.
